hablarenarte (www.hablarenarte.com) is an independent platform for projects that works to support the creation, publicizing dissemination and promotion of contemporary culture.
Among its areas of action, hablarenarte
- Promotes the curating of exhibitions and visual and performing arts events on both a national and international level.
- Conceives and develops programs for educational and mediation programs and cultural and social cooperation actions.
- Disseminates national contemporary creation through publications, audiovisual media and international networks of professional cooperation.
- Assesses and develops studies for public and private organisms and offers training courses in the area of cultural management.
hablarenarte It always develops its projects in collaboration with public and private institutions and cultural agents interested in welcoming and supporting its proposals. We currently have Planta Alta, a residency space in Madrid where we host various artistic and curatorial research programs.

[+] Emma Brassó (Madrid)
Emma is part of the contemporary creation team at hablarenarte and Visiting Lecturer at the Fine Arts Department of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She holds a PhD from Royal College of Art (London) based on her research on the intersection of fiction and authorship since the 1980s. Before that, she obtained a master's degree in Curatorial Studies at Columbia University (New York) with a grant from 'la Caixa' and a degree in History and Theory of Art from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her exhibitions, editorial and educational projects have been presented in Madrid (La Casa Encendida, Sala de Arte Joven, Intermediae-Matadero, Tabacalera), Turin (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo) or Glasgow (Center for Contemporary Arts). Between 2013 and 2018, she was Cultural Programme Curator at the University for the Creative Arts (Kent, UK).
[+] Carlos Almela (Valencia)
Carlos is in charge of the education & mediation programme at hablarenarte. He holds a master's degree in Philosophy (Paris 1 - Sorbonne), in Public Affairs (Sciences Po) and in Business Administration (ESCP Europe). He has been working at the intersection between arts, education and social action since 2013. Before joining hablarenarte, he was Head of the Arts programme at the Daniel & Nina Carasso Foundation, he coordinated the Spanish tour of Musée Mobile (MuMo) and was involved in the Programa Sin Créditos/Sala de Arte Joven (2016). Carlos was also an advisor for the mediation platform ZEMOS98 and the Disruptive Education Group, run by Matadero Madrid. He combines his work with the coordination of the Master in Cultural Management at UC3M and is part of the Advisory Board of LÓVA. He co-founded dos spotters, an independent research collective interested in the fossil aesthetics of aviation.
[+] Flavia Introzzi (Buenos Aires)
Flavia is in charge of the conceptualization and coordination of projects as Curators' Network (www.curators-network.eu) and a3bandas (www.a3bandas.org). She also works for creating networks and strategic partnerships on a national and international level. She graduated in Sociology of Culture at the University of Buenos Aires and holds a Masters in History of Contemporary Art and Visual Culture (MNCARS, UCM, UAM). Before joining the association, Flavia developed projects for both public and private institutions (Intermediae - Matadero Madrid, Carolina and Casa del Lector Foundation) as well as for independent or private initiatives (such as Factum Arte or the off-space Off Limits).
[+] Mamen Adeva (Madrid)
Mamen is in charge of the transversal management of hablarenarte projects, with an emphasis on those related to the living arts. She has a BA in English Literature and Linguistics and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management: Music, Theatre and Dance from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Her line of work is primarily focused on the artistic management and coordination of cultural projects, mainly linked to the field of the living arts, working closely in multidisciplinary creation processes with both national and international artists, as well as centres of creation and exhibition. Her professional experience has been linked to spaces including as Naves Matadero - Centro Internacional de Artes Vivas and Teatro de la Laboral in Gijón, companies such as La tristura, and the festivals El Lugar sin Límites, Escena Contemporánea and Festival Internacional de Benicàssim.
Since the creation of hablarenarte in 2002, Javier Martín-Jiménez, Álvaro Molina Martín, Sören Meschede, Sofía de Juan, Carmen Mateos, Georg Zolchow, Silvia Estaras, Elena Lasala, Estefanía Santiago, Paula Mateo López, Elena Pavón García, María Ene Ondorica have all been part of the association. As well as multiple collaborators, educators, mediators, curators and artists, contributing each of them to what hablarenarte is today.
hablarenarte is a non-profit association listed in the Roster of Associations of the Community of Madrid as number 23,729, with headquarters at avenida Alfonso XIII, 67, primera planta, 28016 Madrid.
