(re)vuelta al patio (22-23)
Condeduque Cultural Center, Madrid
October 2022 to June 2023, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
(re)turn to the patio mutates in this third edition to put the Condeduque patio and the game at the center of its project. The game as a space for experimentation, learning and research where the world is put in parentheses and, simultaneously, in which the world is discussed, shaken and reworked. This edition aims to answer questions such as: what do families play? How have the games changed, what traditions have been lost and what new games have appeared? What parameters govern the games, beyond competitiveness? Can a cultural center activate other ways of playing through co-creation processes with artists and social groups?
(re)turn to the patio proposes to use the Condeduque patio for six Saturday afternoons to make room for experimentation through play, to be a meeting point for families close to the center and to invite others that are further away or less frequent in this place. Each of the game sessions will be co-designed between the team at hablarenarte and an artist, educator or social group specially linked to playful practices. In this way, it will seek to connect with families, audiences and diverse communities, inviting them to imagine and manage a session of open cultural programming.
SESSION 1: Spatial exercises
Saturday October 29, 16.30 to 19.30 h
hablarenarte + Fuentesal & Arenillas + Infinite Creatures
With proposals from artists who use modular pieces to invite free play, and other forms of play and board games based on geometry and rectilinear or circular movements.

Playful traditions from other latitudes coexist in the courtyard to explore other visions of what is playable through its rules or guidelines.
SESSION 6: Now that the patio is forest
Saturday June 3, 17 to 20h
hablarenarte + cultural mediators participating in the training program #ComplementoDirecto
with Laia Gimeno Bardis, Alex Martínez, Rebeca Reyes, Marta Ribeiro, Emily Sun and Adrianna Szojda
How is a forest ecosystem generated? What beings inhabit its celestial, arboreal layer, its undergrowth and its leaf litter?
Before being a cultural center, before being a barracks, before being a city, this patio was a forest. We want it to be like that again, building cabins, kneading seed bombs, listening to the subsoil, dreaming of ditches.
