Report on the Cultural Sector in Spain

Madrid, Spain

This report includes, and enriches at the same time, the results of the previous counselling work done by hablarenarte: for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain, consisting of a mapping of Visual and Performing Arts in Spain. The need of a report that analyzes the cultural policies implemented in the country arouse clearly after finishing this mapping work.

Following the fields of interest for the Office, as well as for the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan, five strategic areas were chosen,

• Visual Arts
• Performing Arts
• Cultural Spaces (Heritage + Architecture)
• Publishing Sector
• Citizenship and Participation

We contacted with five professionals specialized in each one of the areas of study. in order to provide the report with academic rigour and incorporate a professional and practical insight from active agents.
