Password: Printmaking. Travelling Exhibition
Slovenia, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Estonia, Croatia
From October 10 to November 25, 2013 the Centro Internacional de la Estampa Contemporánea CIEC in Betanzos, A Coruña (Spain) presents the show "Password: Printmaking", a group exhibition that brings together the work of 24 artists from six different countries: Slovenia, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Estonia and Croatia.
Each of the six curators was commissioned to select works of four national artists who share a common ground: all understand graphic art in its broadest sense – as a tool for drawing attention to the reality or as a means for achieving change. They consciously reproduce and disseminate the content of their work and in doing so are seeking to amplify its impact.
The styles, views and techniques of the selected 24 artists, predominantly younger and middle generation, can not be more different among each other. They perfectly reflect the plurality within art as a reflection of a very European reality and of the heterogenity of the European Union.
Ángela Cuadra, Pedro Luis Cembranos, Ángel Masip and Javier Pividal are the four Spanish artists who participate in this exhibition. Exhibition venues: MGLC Ljubljana: 17.4.−26.5.2013; FMC Kasterlee: 9.6.−28.7.2013; MCG Krakow: 8.8.−22.9.2013; CIEC Foundation Betanzos: 10.10.−25.11.2013; MMSU Rijeka: 10.12.2013−25.1.2014; TPT Tallinn: February−March 2014.
The exhibition is being accompanied by a catalogue with images of all the artists and texts by the six curators: Božidar Zrinski, Sofie Dederen, Marta Anna Raczek-Karcz, Daina Glavočić, Jannus Samma and Javier Martín-Jiménez.
