Mundo Árabe. Knowledge, Art and Culture

hablarenarte: participates for the first time in a call for the European subsidies programme "Culture 2000" alongside the association Taqafat Cultures. Held between 20 to December 29, 2002 in Madrid, the initiative is developed under the heading of "Knowledge, Art and Culture", and with an approach that covers the Arts (music, photography, visual arts, dance, cooking, etc..) and other side events. This meeting allows us to approach a culture that is also ours, avoiding ethnocentric prejudices and stereotypes.

Proposed activities include lectures, concerts and other activities to meet specific aspects of Arab culture. It all adds up to a photo exhibition in which young artists offer their particular view on immigration. Among the works on display, the public selected the most representative photo project, chosen to be part of a group exhibition bringing together the work done in each of the partner countries of the project.

The exhibition, entitled "Art and migrazione", was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Experimental L'Aquila (Italy) in 2003.
