Antón Martín market, built in 1934, is the most important market place for the centric neighbourhoods of Lavapies, Letras and Justicia, which are known for their bohemian, artistic and multicultural atmosphere. As such, it reflects the ethnic and generational diversity and the processes of social inequality that characterize  the historic center of Madrid. The market assumes a key role in the field of distribution and retail, neighborhood socialization processes and the consolidation of the symbolic identity of the area. The graphic designer, poet and musician Joana Brabo (BCN) opens this edition of Palabras Habladas with a performance of micro-poetry at the Mercado de Antón Martín.
