Marino Marini. Más allá de la escultura. Guided tours program
Centro Conde Duque. Calle Conde Duque, 9-11. Madrid
Marino Marini (Pistoia, 1901 – Milan, 1980), is one of the greatest exponents of 20th century Italian art and without whom the development of art in our times could not be understood. His influence has been vital and decisive for 20th and 21st century sculptors. His sculptures draw heavily on Etruscan tradition, showing clear traces of this culture’s mythology.
This anthological exhibition has managed to create a juxtaposition between the pieces that shows the sculptor’s mastery of all kinds of artistic languages. A total of 75 works take us into Marini's artistic realm using his own language, which was that of his time, but reinventing the classics, giving his pieces an innate modernity that makes them a legacy of the period in which they were created.
Alongside the exhibition, hablarenarte: is organising a programme of guided tours that will help to decode the key features of Marini's work through the five themed areas into which the exhibition has been split: “Desnudos y Pomonas”, “El Circo”, “Caballo y caballero”, “Retratos” and “Milagros”.
